Orion was a boastful hunter and he vowed to the goddess Artemis that he would slay every animal on Earth. Artemis swore protection to all the creatures of the world and she sent a scorpion to deal with that blasted Orion. Orion would put up a valiant effort for his life but he would die to the scorpion. Zeus amused by the going ons would bring that scorpion up to the heavens, and he put him in the sky to remind all the mortals looking upward to mind their place and be less prideful. Zeus would also place Orion into the sky, every winter he spends his time in the night sky hunting, but every summer, when that scorpion enters the sky, Orion flees. Smartly so.
